What a Sushi Master Taught Us About Sound Production

Different people learn different ways. There are instructions booklet readers and people who throw out the extra bits when they don't fit, people who study books and people who learn on their feet. Usually you need a bit of both to be successful, but what about learning from someone who actually has nothing to do at all with what you are trying to grasp?

sushiThat was the case with us and the documentary Jiro Dreams of Sushi. In the film, we learn all about Jiro-san and his incredible passion for sushi. But the thing is, its not really all about the sushi at all, its about how one man puts perfection above success in order to follow his dreams. "in dreams I have grand visions of sushi," says Jiro, inspiring us that no dream or goal is too inconsequential. The 85 year old man has received the highest accolades from food critics from around the world, and even been declared by the Japanese government as a "national treasure". His popular restaurant only accepts reservations a month in advance, and at $300 a seat, you know his patrons know and love his incredible appreciation for perfection in sushi.

So how does this teach us about sound production? And why am I suddenly hungry for a salmon and cream cheese roll? We are inspired by this man's singular pursuit to do one thing incredibly well, and by focusing on honing his skills in that area, he has made himself a success. Our team of production engineers work hard to make sure their audio productions and voiceovers are completed and fulfill exactly what the client is looking for while at the same time adding a creative edge and polished final product that we can be proud to put our name to. So why not try Corporate Sound out for your next voice over project? We can't guarantee that we can make great sushi, but we can guarantee our quality audio productions and quick service.
