The Evolution of Google

Google a Super PowerWe have all witnessed the dramatic changes Google has made over the years, with the biggest (and possible most detrimental) with the Penguin and Panda updates, but Google has evolved into a true Internet super power and they are really unstoppable. Businesses around the globe rely on this search engine and Google is a huge source of income for them. Let’s take a look into the evolution of Google.

In the beginning, Google was simply a search engine, but today it has become so much more. With the integration of Google Documents, Google Plus and all the amazing Android Apps, Google is simple a wonder to individuals and businesses alike.

Google Navigation and Search

In 2007, Google developed the Google Navigation system – with added search features. Today we see a much more slick Google search menu with the ability to search news, images, blogs and shopping. They have also introduced the voice-based search system – allowing users to simply say what they are looking for, rather than having to type it out.

Google Plus users will also find their searches to be unique to match their previous interests and search history, with many of the search results based on previous searches, location and Google Plus activity.

Google AdWords

Google AdWords has also developed into an amazing advertising tool for businesses, and now you can set up campaigns based on location and keywords, that are time specific and specifically targeted to devise used.

For instance, if someone is searching a keyword related to you, and they are on a mobile phone and are just around the corner, you can actually have an advertisement saying, “Corporate Sound is around the corner in Nerang. Drop by and get your professional audio production today.”

They even offer a remarketing tool, using cookies they can track users, and with Google AdWords, you can market your product to those customers who have already been to your site when they are looking at other sites. So say for instance we had a customer looking at audio productions for radio commercials, and they are now on another site which features Google AdSense, then we could effectively have a graphic advertisement enticing that visitor to come back and sign up for their radio commercial.

Google Plus

Google Plus is Google’s social media network, and is now well integrate in to the search system. As we all know, Google loves content, and now with Google Plus you can set up Google Author, whereby your picture comes up next to searches where you have written the content.

All in all, Google is advancing each and every day, and they are the kings of keeping us all on our toes. Google is also the inventor of Google sunglass – a smart fashion item that integrates maps, messaging and apps while the user is on the go. Google is constantly changing the way we think and see the world, and for businesses, they are changing the way we market our products and services.
