4 Easy Ways to Become a Social Media Guru

Everyone is on social media these days, even grandmas! So with all that noise and information flying around the internet, how can you make your voice heard and your business stand out?

By following these quick easy tips of course!

1. Create conversation. Don't just use it as a way to try to stuff things down your followers throats. Ask questions, encourage conversation and feedback, and don't forget about the small talk. People won't be interested if all you ahve to say is dry facts about your copy machine services, but if you write about things in real life that real people are interested in, you are more likely to get a response. So don't be afraid to do a survey about what people are up to this Friday night, or post a funny image. Your customers will appreciate your humanity.

2.  Talk in real language. Your customers understand that your a very smart doctor or computer analyst, but you will lose them as soon as you start talking over their heads in terms they don't understand. Phrase your dialog in real man's terms so that the general public can be involved as well as the super smarties.

3. Create valuable and unique content. If your a hairdresser, people would probably be interested in knowing the latest celebrity hairstyles, or the best new colour. Put yourself in your customer's shoes and think about what they would be interested in.

4. Don't be a jerk. Strongly worded replies to problematic customers should be dealt with in a more private way like email or phone calls, in order to avoid public backlash. Always be polite and helpful, and give credit where its due when reposting other people's content.
